This year in our school, teachers have to set yearly goals. My goal for the 2011-12 school year is to take a journey into the land of RTI (Response to Intervention). We shall see where it takes me.

If I never hear "I don't have time to do that", again (from a teacher) it will still be too soon!
I am sorry to hear that comment. I wish that I could be in the classroom to help the boys and girls learn. Sometimes, it just takes a little conferring with the child to find out his/her learning style, but it is worth it. The amount of frustration that can be eliminated is amazing. This is also true for those needing to be challenged. We need to take the time to find out what each individual child needs in order to succeed. Remember teaching means being flexible. The classroom is not a one size fits all, so unfortunately, we need to find the time. It is NOT easy.
